TAHOE CITY, CA (MPG) - Tahoe City Public Utility District (TCPUD) has been awarded the District Transparency Certificate of Excellence by the Special District Leadership Foundation in recognition of its outstanding efforts to promote transparency and good governance. This marks the fourth consecutive award cycle TCPUD has earned this honor.

To receive the award Tahoe City Public Utility District demonstrated the completion of essential governance transparency requirements, including conducting ethics training for all board members, properly conducting open and public meetings, and filing financial transactions and compensation reports to the State Controller in a timely manner.

“This award is a testament to Tahoe City Public Utility District’s commitment to open government,” said Gail Scoville, TCPUD board president. “I’m proud of our staff and fellow board members for their unending work to empower the public with information and facilitate transparent engagement and oversight.”

Transparency is a core component of TCPUD's commitment to public service. TCPUD provides public access to Board meetings and agendas, publishes financial and operational information online, and maintains proactive communication programs that keep customers informed about major projects, service updates, rates and community initiatives throughout the year.

The Special District Leadership Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization formed to promote good governance and best practices among California’s special districts through certification, accreditation and other recognition programs.
