TAHOE CITY, CA (MPG) - The Placer Artists Tour will expand to North Lake Tahoe for the first time from Nov. 6 to 8, inviting the public to explore studios, galleries, and creative spaces throughout the region as part of a self-guided countywide arts tour. The deadline to apply to participate is April 30.
To encourage participation from the North Tahoe creative community, the Tahoe City Downtown Association (TCDA) and Kings Beach District are offering a 50 percent matching stipend to help artists, galleries, schools and creative businesses take part in the tour. Funding for the stipend program has been made available by the Arts Council of Placer County.
The Placer Artists Tour is a self-guided, countywide event where artists and creative venues open their doors to visitors and offer artwork for sale directly to the public. The tour supports arts and culture during the fall shoulder season while helping drive cultural tourism and economic activity in North Lake Tahoe.
Participating artists and venues also benefit from regional marketing and outreach coordinated through the tour.
Artists and venues interested in participating and receiving a stipend must complete two steps:
Step 1: Apply to the Placer Artists Tour by April 30 at https://placerartiststour.org.
Step 2: Apply for the 50 percent matching stipend offered through TCDA and the Kings Beach District.
Artists and venues can learn more and apply at VisitTahoeCity.org/art-tour26.
