On Stage from the State Presents Mark Hanson and Greta Pedersen

AUBURN, CA (MPG) - Mark Hanson and Greta Pedersen are, respectively, a Grammy-Award winning acoustic guitarist and a Young Audiences’ National Artist of the Year. Together, their concerts are a memorable mix of playful jazz, Americana, originals and eclectic pop highlighted by blazing fingerpicking and soulful vocals. 

Mark and Greta have performed around the world and have shared the stage with many greats including Jerry Garcia and Pete Seeger. In 2009, they played and sang for the President of the United States. Mark’s guitar recordings play on NPR, Martha Stewart Living, American Idol and more. Greta is a versatile performer and music educator who has appeared internationally in concerts, arts festivals, night clubs and schools, as well as on radio and television.

Mark is also a well-known instructor in the acoustic guitar field. He has authored over two dozen guitar books  including “The Art of Solo Fingerpicking” which was honored in 2012 by being included in the “50 Greatest Guitar Books” publication. He has released 10 recordings and contributed to numerous tribute CDs, one of which – Solid Air Records’ “Henry Mancini Pink Guitar” – won a Grammy for best pop instrumental album in 2005.

Mark and Greta founded Accent On Music LLC in 1985, publishing his many titles and hosting the annual Accent On Music Fingerstyle Guitar Seminar in Portland, Oregon. Performers/teachers such as Tommy Emmanuel, John Renbourn, Alex DeGrassi and Laurence Juber have joined Mark for the fest.

Mark and Greta will perform at Auburn's Odd Fellows Lodge, 1126 1/2 Lincoln Way, Auburn at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19. Doors open at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $30 adults, $26 seniors and youth 17 and under (includes $6 fee).
