AUBURN, CA (MPG) - “A Love Story With the Power to Change the World.” Filmed over the course of 20 years, this is the powerful true story of how one woman’s heart opened wide enough to hold fifty children -- and change their lives forever.
In 2005 after graduating high school, Maggie Doyne embarked on a gap year to Nepal, where she met Tope, a now grown Nepalese orphan, caring for orphaned children. United in purpose, Maggie and Tope pooled resources to establish a children’s home, women's empowerment program and school in Nepal.
Years later, their relentless efforts led to being honored as the 2015 CNN HERO OF THE YEAR.
The film offers an unfiltered look at deep compassion, love, loss, and the quiet courage to keep going. A Q&A with Suzy Becker, long-time friend of Maggie Doyne, follows the film. Suzy has traveled to Nepal several times in support of Maggie’s work.
“Maggie has the courage to act for good when she sees a need and the conscience to use her privilege to empower others. She is a heart warrior of the first order," said Cheryl Strayed, #1 New York Times bestselling author of “Wild.”
This event is sponsored by Suzy Becker and Brad Pedersen on behalf of the BlinkNow Foundation.
