AUBURN, CA (MPG) - This breathtaking snowboard odyssey through Lake Tahoe’s rugged, untouched backcountry showcases the raw talent and creative vision of pro snowboarder Curtis Woodman. Beyond the stunning visuals, "Wayfinder" follows a deeply personal journey of self-discovery and resilience, reflecting Woodman’s reconnection with snowboarding, finding his way through whatever life throws at him. Self-filmed using cutting-edge drone technology, Woodman captures every heart-pounding descent and stylish maneuver with unparalleled intimacy, immersing viewers in the pristine beauty of the Sierra Nevada’s powder-laden peaks, steep chutes, and dramatic cornices.As the film’s editor, producer, and even the voice behind its original soundtrack, Woodman weaves a soulful narrative that blends adrenaline-fueled action with introspective storytelling. The song, performed by Woodman himself, serves as a soul-searching odyssey, infusing the film with emotional depth. "Wayfinder" is more than a snowboarding film -- it’s a testament to finding one’s path through passion, nature, and perseverance.
The documentary film screens Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026 at Auburn's Odd Fellows Lodge #7, 1226 1/2 Lincoln Way, and is followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and kids 11 and under (includes $2 fee).
