PLACER COUNTY, CA (MPG) - For over three decades, Protect American River Canyons (PARC) has been a dedicated voice for preserving the natural, recreational, and cultural resources of the North and Middle Forks of the American River and its canyons through leadership and collaboration. One of PARC’s longtime champions, board member Gary Estes, has played a vital role in ensuring this legacy endures well into the future.
In partnership with Placer Community Foundation (PCF), Protect American River Canyons has established the PARC Legacy Fund — a permanent endowment designed to support future efforts in river canyon conservation. This visionary move ensures that future generations can continue PARC’s mission, using the knowledge gained over the past 50 years to meet tomorrow’s environmental challenges.
“The PARC Legacy Fund at Placer Community Foundation is focused on the future work of protecting and improving the American River canyons. We want to assist future generations of PARCsters by applying what we have learned over the past 50 years and leave this endowment to help meet the challenges and opportunities ahead,” said Gary Estes, PARC Board Member.
