AUBURN, CA (MPG) -
Tom and Judy Maxwell, longtime residents of Auburn, are being remembered for their kindness, generosity, and enduring love for the community they called home. After their passing, the couple left a generous bequest to the Placer Community Foundation’s (PCF)
Community Impact Fund, continuing a legacy of giving that will benefit the region for years to come.
Tom Maxwell was known as a hardworking, kind-hearted man who, along with Judy, quietly contributed to the well-being of their community.

“I worked with Tom and helped him manage their rental properties,” said Patrick, a close friend of Tom’s. “After he passed from away, I continued to help Judy with the properties until she sold them. They were just good, hardworking Americans who loved their town. I’d describe them as incredibly generous people.”

Judy Maxwell, who passed away seven years after Tom, was equally devoted to both the community and the people she loved. Her cousin, Janice, fondly remembered her as someone who embraced life with an infectious sense of humor and warmth. “Judy loved music, animals, and always had a dog that she treated like a family member,” said Janice. “She was full of life and loved to travel. After Tom died, we got together every Wednesday for seven years. She was strong, inspirational, and would do anything for anyone. Like Tom, she was incredibly generous.”

The Maxwells' final act of generosity was a bequest to PCF’s
Community Impact Fund, a fund created by the Foundation’s founders to ensure lasting, broad-based support for the region. The fund addresses key issues such as workforce housing, homelessness, food delivery systems, and enrichment activities in the arts.

“Our Community Impact Fund allows us to address pressing needs in the region and support vital projects,” said Veronica Blake, chief executive officer of Placer Community Foundation. “Tom and Judy’s gift will enable us to continue promoting philanthropy, advocacy, education, and collaboration across Placer County. Their bequest helps ensure that the causes they cared about will thrive for future generations.”

The couple’s donation exemplifies the spirit of giving back. The Maxwell legacy not only reflects their deep care for their community but serves as an inspiration for others looking to make an impact.

Tom and Judy Maxwell’s kindness, generosity, and dedication will live on through the positive changes their gift will inspire.
