AUBURN, CA (MPG) - State Theatre Acting Company (STAC) presents Golden Age Radio Theatre on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Auburn, 710 Auburn Ravine Road, Auburn.

State Theatre Acting Company’s eighth season of Golden Age Radio Theatre continues with some of the most beloved and iconic radio shows from the 1940s & 50s. Relive or experience for the first time the magic of classic radio theatre. Each show features talented actors, dynamic soundscapes from a live Foley (sound effects) artist and engaging narratives that will transport you to a bygone era.

The Aug. 17 lineup is:

Casey, Crime Photographer: “The Case of the Blonde Lipstick” – Casey and his sidekick, Ann, track down a possible thief, but it proves to be smoke and mirrors for what’s really occurring.

Suspense: “August Heat” – In W. F. Harvey’s matchless narrative of premonition, the heat is suffocatingly oppressive as a man in a trance sketches his own demise with uncanny detail. But is it déjà vu or just a figment of his imagination?

My Favorite Husband: “Knitting Baby Booties” – That zany couple, Liz and George, are back on stage, but this time Liz is knitting baby booties. What does it all mean?

Bring your chairs, a picnic, and enjoy! Venue is outside in the church parking lot as weather allows. If it’s too hot, the event will move into the Church’s Overmiller Hall where we can enjoy A/C. This event is free to all and donations are gratefully accepted.
