Soroptimist Announces New Board Members

Newcastle, CA, Resident Serves as Secretary/Treasurer of Global Women’s Organization
PHILADELPHIA, PA (MPG) — Jackie DeMartini of Newcastle, Calif., is serving a one-year term as secretary/treasurer of the Board of Directors for Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc.® (SIA), a global women’s volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.
As secretary/treasurer, DeMartini will participate in strategic planning and program development for the organization to increase its collective impact in helping women and girls around the world to achieve their full potential. In addition, she will work with Soroptimist’s professional staff to oversee the organization’s financial practices and accounts.
DeMartini is a member of Soroptimist International of Loomis Basin, one of 1,200 Soroptimist clubs throughout the world. A member since 1998, DeMartini has held several leadership positions including region governor and treasurer; and club president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.
“I am excited to begin my term as secretary/treasurer of Soroptimist,” DeMartini said. “I look forward to being able to shape the future of Soroptimist and continue our global mission of providing women and girls with access to education and training so they can achieve economic empowerment.”
DeMartini is the owner of JC Bookkeeping and Financial Services. She attended Sierra College in Rocklin, Calif., where she received an associate of arts degree in liberal arts. In addition to her Soroptimist involvement, she is a member of the Newcastle Portuguese Hall Association.
