AUBURN, CA (MPG) - Work is underway on a road safety project at various locations in Auburn, Granite Bay, Loomis, Pleasant Grove and West Roseville.

The safety project identified locations with high traffic accident rates, which are now slated for resurfacing, restriping, lighting and signage improvements.

“This will be an intense resurfacing project for Placer County,” said Kevin Taber, manager of Placer County’s Road Maintenance Division. “It will be hectic for everybody for a while, but our roads will be smoother and safer for it.”

Construction crews with B&M Construction, contracted by Placer County, are currently applying surface treatments, which includes a slurry seal, rubberized chip seal, and paint striping. The work will make the roads safer for motorists and pedestrians.

Construction crews will return to install lighting improvements and signage at various project locations in April.

Roadway resurfacing locations and dates include:             

Oct. 10:

• Intersection of Watt Ave. and PFE Rd., West Roseville (8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.)
• Intersection of Cavitt Stallman Rd. and Auburn Folsom Rd., Granite Bay (8:30a.m. and 3:30 p.m.)
• Intersection of Sunset Blvd. and Amuroso Way, Pleasant Grove

Oct. 11:

• Intersection of Fiddyment Rd. and Athens Ave., Pleasant Grove (8:30a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
• Intersection of Fiddyment Rd. and Sunset Blvd., Pleasant Grove (8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
• Intersection of Athens Ave. and Foothill Blvd. (8:30 a.m. - 3:30p.m.)

 Oct. 12:

• Intersection of Baseline Rd. and Locust Rd, Pleasant Grove (8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
• Intersection of English Colony Way and Delmar Ave, Loomis

 Road resurfacing is complete at the following locations:

• Intersection of Luther Rd. and Bowman Rd., Auburn
•  Intersection of Mt. Vernon Rd. and Atwood Rd., Auburn
• Intersection of Luther Rd. and Bowman Rd., Auburn
• Intersection of Ophir Rd. and Wise Rd., Ophir
• Intersection of Newcastle Rd. and Auburn Folsom Rd., Newcastle
• Intersection of Newcastle Rd. and Brennans Rd., Newcastle
• Intersection of Gladding Rd. and Merrit Lane, Western Placer County
• Intersection of Eureka Rd. and Barton Rd., Granite Bay
